“When you sell your business, it can be a lonely transaction. When you have somebody like iTV that really understands and can talk with you about your business, it means a lot. Having that comfort factor is just tremendous.”

FAQs

We offer two ways to engage with our valuation expertise: a one-time Calculation of Value engagement and Valuations as a Service, an ongoing quarterly subscription. A one-time valuation provides a single calculation of your company’s value as of a specific date, generally used to support a defined need such as planning, financing, or a pending transaction. VaaS instead establishes an ongoing engagement: your value is recalculated every quarter, supported by a dashboard and strategic review calls, so you can track how the business is trending and make decisions with continuous visibility rather than a single point-in-time figure.

The right choice depends on your purpose and timeline. A one-time valuation suits owners with a specific, near-term need for a calculated value, such as preparing for a defined transaction or internal planning decision. VaaS suits owners who want ongoing visibility into enterprise value over time, whether they are actively planning an exit in the coming years or simply want to build value intentionally without a near-term sale in mind. Many owners begin with one engagement and transition to the other as their needs evolve.

Every engagement is built on the same underlying framework: a structured analysis across five stages of business maturity and 24 value drivers, each with a measurable, quantified effect on EBITDA multiple derived from a proprietary dataset of completed MSP valuations. Valuations are calculated using a combination of income and market approaches, including capitalization of earnings and discounted cash flow methods, with results considered against industry benchmarks specific to IT services and MSP businesses.

Both engagement types require access to your financial data, either through a supported accounting platform integration or a secure upload, along with completion of a guided questionnaire covering operational and risk factors specific to your business. A strategic interview with a valuator follows, covering your financial history, revenue mix, company-specific risks, and long-term goals. The depth of data required scales with the purpose and standard of the engagement.

Outcomes are tailored to the engagement type and intended use. A one-time engagement concludes with a documented valuation report and a review of the findings. VaaS clients receive recalculated values each quarter, ongoing dashboard access, prioritized recommendations for improving value, and a comprehensive year-end report. In both cases, you will receive a clear explanation of what is driving your company’s value and the key factors affecting it.

It depends on the standard and scope of the engagement. Some uses, such as litigation, tax filings, third-party reliance, or transactional purposes, require a specific valuation standard and engagement scope suited to that use. If you have a defined purpose in mind, let us know during your initial conversation so the engagement can be scoped correctly from the start.

We work exclusively with IT services and managed service provider companies, which means our benchmarks, risk factors, and value drivers are calibrated specifically to this industry rather than adapted from general small business valuation practice. Our dataset is built from over one hundred MSP valuations, giving owners a level of industry-specific context that generalist valuation firms cannot offer.
